Our director, Ellen Gunning, was conferred with a Fellowship by the Public Relations Institute of Ireland in recognition of her substantial contribution to public relations practice and education. The ceremony was held in the O'Reilly Hall of University College Dublin (UCD). The Fellowship was conferred by PRII President Justin Green.
The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) represents journalists working in Ireland, the UK and parts of Europe. Members work across the media industry – in broadcast, national and local print media, radio, magazines and online, as photographers, editors and sub-editors, staffers and freelances. The NUJ has over 38,000 members.
The Academy is proud to be the first college in Ireland to have our Event Management course professionally accredited by C4EE, the Centre for Excellence in Events, in 2007.
The Irish Academy of Public Relations and Orient Planet have joined forces to create Orient Planet Academy, the first online PR and Communications academy in the Middle East. Orient Planet Academy will provide Irish Academy of Public Relations courses in Public Relations, Journalism, Event Management and Grammar in the Middle East, Levant and North African countries. Courses will be taught in English and Arabic.
